This print is of the Welcome To Craigland sign created by Glasgow-based artist A Sign of Humour. A homage to the classic Glasgow sitcom Still Game, it features silhouettes of Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade, each with their trademark hats, while Jack is smoking his pipe and Victor is holding a carrier bag from Harrid’s Convenience Store (better know to everyone in the fictitious Craigland as Navid’s). In the background is Osprey Heights, the tower block where Jack and Victor live, and in the middle is a signpost pointing to The Clansman (their local pub, staffed by Boaby the Barman), the Craiglang Betting Shop (run my Stevie the Bookie), Osprey Heights, and Craiglang Park, with its Number 1 bench. The sign is completed with theĀ classic phrase ‘He who hingest aboot getteth hee-haw’ (from the very first episode) at the bottom and the title ‘Weclome To Craigland’ (with the purposeful misspelling of the word ‘Welcome’ as it appears on Jack’s infamous doormat from the series, which he got cheap from Winston).
The print itself is 7.25 inches by 9 inches (18.5 cm by 23cm), and it comes mounted in a white 1.5 inch (3.5 cm) mount with a total size of 10 inches by 12 inches (25.5 cm by 30.5cm). This print is signed by A Sign of Humour.
