This is a PVC sign of the Welcome To Garelochhead sign created by the Glasgow-based artist A Sign of Humour as a homage to the 1954 Godzilla, as well as a commentary on presence of the nuclear submarine base at Faslane on Gareloch. This location was selected, despite its proximity to a large proportion of the population of Scotland, due to the Faslane Effect. This was that the large number of rainy days at Faslane (amongst the highest in Scotland) would reduce the spread of any contamination caused by a nuclear accident and limit it to the local area. It is the size of an A4 sheet of paper (210mm wide and 297mm tall) and is made of 1.0 mm thick PVC, with rounded corners.
This sign is also available as a mounted print.
